EN| Fire Signals (2025)

A miner’s locker door is both a political and aesthetic statement. Almost prophetic, science fiction and political fiction blend.
A miner has been sticking all his political and cultural stickers from 1975 to 1994 on the inside of his locker door. The moment that marks the transition between work and free time is the moment when—in an iconoclastic gesture—the interior is filled with appropriate colors, desires, and daydreams.
Fernando left his machine of the future behind, and I had the opportunity to recover it.
This clipping has always amazed me the most. The political campaign sticker featuring the character responsible for the extinction of his job coexists with the kindness of ET.

The installation Sinais de Fogo (Signs of Fire, 2025) is a multiple of the miner’s door.
The installation consists of a structure/support resembling the trestle used in vertical coal mining and a 16mm looped projection.
