Inês Leal (2001, Portugal) is an artist and researcher who lives and works in Porto.
With a multidisciplinary background, she develops her artistic practice at the intersection of the moving image and visual installation. She holds an MA in Cinema from the School of Arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (where she was a research grantee at CITAR) and a BA in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP).

She has been regularly producing and exhibiting artistic work in exhibition contexts since 2021. Her works are part of the Contemporary Art Collection of the Municipality of Porto and have been shown in national and international contexts, such as La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Serralves Foundation, Culturgest, Galeria Municipal do Porto (GMP), CIAJG, gnration, Centro Português de Fotografia (CPF), and School of Arts. In cinema, notable presentations include participation in the Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival (Experimental Competition), Festival Scope and Porto/Post/Doc (Industry Screenings).
During her MA in Cinema, she conducted research focusing on working-class communities in mining regions and their relationship with the moving image. Since 2025, she has been a researcher at the Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts — UCP (CITAR).

In 2026, she was awarded the Flechada grant (FLAD x Galeria Municipal do Porto) for her first institutional solo exhibition, the FLAD US Artistic Residency Scholarship, and the Millennium Foundation Young Art Award.

Inês Leal (2001, Portugal) é artista e investigadora que vive e trabalha no Porto.
Com uma formação multidisciplinar, desenvolve a sua prática artística na interseção entre a imagem em movimento e a instalação visual.
É mestre em Cinema pela Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (onde foi bolseira de investigação pelo CITAR), licenciada em Design de Comunicação pela Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade do Porto (FBAUP).

Produz e expõe regularmente trabalho artístico em contexto expositivo desde 2021, as suas obras integram o Núcleo de Arte Contemporânea da Coleção Municipal de Arte do Porto e têm sido exibidas em contextos nacionais e internacionais, tais como La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Fundação de Serralves, Culturgest, Galeria Municipal do Porto (GMP), CIAJG, gnration, Centro Português de Fotografia (CPF) e Escola das Artes. No âmbito do cinema, destaca-se a participação no Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival (Competição Experimental), Festival Scope e no Porto/Post/Doc (Industry Screenings).
No mestrado em Cinema, desenvolveu uma investigação que se debruça sobre as comunidades trabalhadoras em regiões mineiras e a sua relação com a imagem em movimento. Desde 2025 é investigadora no Centro de Investigação em Ciência e Tecnologia das Artes — UCP (CITAR).

Em 2026, foi distinguida com o apoio Flechada (FLAD x Galeria Municipal do Porto) para a sua primeira exposição individual em contexto institucional, com a Bolsa de Residência Artística nos EUA, promovida pela FLAD, e com o Prémio Arte Jovem da Fundação Millennium.
